I’m pretty impressed with my Umlindi, very comfortable design. I’ve been using it heavily on short hikes and bike rides with around 20 pounds in it.
Starting to wonder how much I could get by with in hunting season. I’m contemplating purchasing a prairie belt and using for early season deer hunts when all I’ll be carrying is a puffy and a kill kit. (Besides water and essentials.)
I’m thinking I could fit a boned out whitetail in there and be ok.
If I use a belt, due to being so tall, I’ll have the straps pretty much maxed out for it to ride in the correct spot. Not sure if that makes any difference or not??
Sold my other small packs last year, so I’m down to this and my much larger Kifaru’s. Would love to be able to make this work for short hunts and good weather.
Just looking for opinions before i order. If this is a bad idea and probably won’t work, the belt would be a wasted purchase for me, as I’ll return he Umlindi to beltless duty and buy a slightly larger pack for the early seasons/turkey hunting.
