Hard to say without seeing a photo.  I'd say go with the bolt & nut...if that works, roll with it.  If not, you could always rivet it into place.

2019 now, saw this years ago and never dove into the project. Now I'm looking for stove bodies and the closest I can get is 5.5" x 7" or 7"x7" .

Anyone been able to source a 6"x9" body?

Right I'll take a look thank you.

I'm gonna do a proof of concept on the 5.5 x7 I found at Target for $10.

Also now I'm curious if a could do a long skinny 4" or 5" x 11" tube. long enough to nest the pipe when rolled up width wise. I've seen the cereal canister organizers but they all have a plastic view port .
