I have an old Durkopp 211 industrial sewing machine. I live in Madagascar and use it to repail my sails of my yacht (Wharram Cat). I need info on a problem i have - the thread bundles-up just underneath the cover under the walking foot. It is not thread tension.

Yeah, you said right. We cannot perform heavy tasks with domestic or simple cloth sewing machines. The sewing machines for leather, on the other hand, are specially made for heavy tasks. So, I also recommend using leather sewing machines for heavy tasks.
