A lot of people don't realize that the warmth of a sleep system almost has more to do with the insulation under you than the insulation above you. It's a VERY big deal when you have an inflatable sleeping pad failure in the backcountry. Savvy travelers will often back up an inflatable pad with a foam mat in case of failure. Another option is to carry a heavier duty sleeping pad that is far less likely to fail.

The military version of the neoair is the same packed and inflated size as the regular neoair but is a full pound heavier. That extra pound goes into thicker materials which are far less likely to suffer a puncture or seam failure. It comes in a roll up bag for easier storage than the commercial version. The military version is also made out of US materials in addition to being manufactured in the US (fully Berry compliant) if that is important to you.
