I have used Kifaru gear for a while, where ITW Oval Slides and ITW Looplocs are used with 20mm webbing to provide a detachable/reattachable connection.  The narrower webbing allows the Slide to pass through the Looploc.

Was there every any intent in the HPG designs, using 1" webbing, for the Oval Slides to pass through the Square Rings?  I had initially assumed that this would be the case so that shoulder straps could be swapped between packs.

It seems like it is an impossible task and the only way to swap straps is to feed the webbing through the ladder lock and then pull the whole length of webbing through the square ring.

Is this the intent?

Liking the packs, just want to use the features as the designers intended ;)

Thanks

Chris

This is correct:
to swap straps feed the webbing through the ladder lock and then pull the whole length of webbing through the square ring.
