Eventually the snow will melt where I live and we'll be able to get out on the backcountry trails - both driving and hiking.  I've got my self rescue equipment dialed in but I'm wondering about buying a Lithium battery pack for boosting my truck battery.

Do any of you bring one along?  Any recommendations?

Yes, this is what I use:   http://themicrostart.com/

I've used mine to start several large diesel pickups (1-ton dually and 3/4 ton)  with dead batteries in cold weather.  Everyone in my family has one now in a size appropriate to their perceived needs.  We have over 10 "saves", mostly on other people's vehicles.  Recommended.

Thanks Buck.  Real world feedback is exactly what I was hoping for.

You are welcome.
It is charged using a regular wall outlet, and IME holds a full charge for a long time.
