Slot Pocket Survival Kit V3
Contingency is super important to us, and this is the kit we keep in our kit bags in case we get in a bind. It is small and lightweight enough to disappear into a jacket or pants pocket as well. While minimalistic, this is a kit even MacGyver would approve of, featuring tools for creating fire and shelter, collecting and cleaning water, signaling for help, and more! Realistically, most survival kits expect a level of training and skill that is beyond that of many outdoor recreationists. Our kit is designed to be something you can hand to anyone regardless of skill level and it will be of use to them.
The insert is printed with a list of contents and step-by-step instructions that walk a person through what they need to do and boost their morale at the same time:
1 RELAX - Take a deep breath, and everything will turn out fine. Now, let's get started.
2 SHELTER - Find natural shelter (south-facing, under a thick bush or tree). Improve upon that with the mylar blanket to protect from rain, snow, or sun. Only start a fire if you can collect a lot of dry materials without using too much body heat or getting too wet. Break small, dead branches off of surrounding trees and bushes. If it doesn't snap, skip the fire.
3 SIGNAL - Use sound, color, and movement to alert rescuers. At night, use light or fire. If you have a good fire going during the day, use green leaves to create smoke.
4 STAY WHERE YOU ARE - You will last 3 weeks without food and 3 days without water. Exposure can kill in as little as three hours. Searchers will have better luck finding you if you are stationary. Conserve energy where you can, and improve your position if need be. Gather water, and hang tight.
Please, familiarize yourself with the contents and functions prior to use, preparedness is everything! Packed in a 6mil resealable bag, so you can add/subtract supplies to suit your specific needs. Total weight 5.5oz/158g.
No, this kit does not include a knife, because surely you already have one (or more) on you, right?
Other than the saw blade, this kit is TSA approved*
