When we designed the Coyote, we wanted a generalist knife that would be equally at home in the wilderness and city. Like our Ute pack, it does everything pretty well but is a true mid-sized knife. We then set out to make a little brother to the Coyote, an Umlindi of knives if you will. The goal was to keep the timeless blade and handle shape of the Coyote, but in a slimmed-down down more “pocket” friendly size.  Thus, the Fox was born. Like its big brother, the Fox is a generalist knife that will accomplish most tasks well but is more at home with smaller tasks and everyday carry.  Having it made by LT Wright and his talented team was a no-brainer. 

Keeping the same blade and handle shape as the Coyote we thinned, narrowed, and shortened the Fox, and went to a guard integral to the scales and the tang of the knife.  Once the Fox was designed we got together with Chattanooga Leatherworks to design a sheath for it. Made of high-quality leather, the sheath comes with a Uticlip setup for pocket or deep in the waistband carry.  However, attachment points are available to fit discreet carry clips and scout straps (we will make these available soon) so the knife can be set up for virtually any carry with a secure classy sheath.

Each knife was test fit to the sheath it comes with.  However, like all high-quality leather, the sheath will require some break-in. That ensures good retention long term. If you wish, you can form the sheath to the knife. To do that, thoroughly wet the sheath (we just throw them in a bowl of water till they start to soften.). Then use your fingertips or something firm to knead the sheath around the knife. Then let dry. Long-term care should be limited to a light oil when the leather starts to look dry. Do not use leather conditioners or softeners as they can result it too much softness and a lack of retention.
